Now that we're back, we're looking forward to our next in-person teaching event - Unleashed Workshop in beautiful Arrowtown, New Zealand in April 2024 (that's autumn for us "down under"). 🍁

You might be wondering what the difference is between our two different workshop types - Style Lab Retreat and Unleashed Workshop?

Let us fill you in...

Style Lab Retreat is an all-inclusive (including accommodation, meals, transport) 5-day retreat experience in an exciting international destination, where Charlotte and Craig are joined by internationally-acclaimed dog photographer extraordinaire, Alicja Zmysłowska.

During the retreat, we work with established pet photographers to delve deep into how their personality is reflected in their unique photographic style, and discuss how to enhance their creativity and boost their inspiration.

Oh - and of course we photograph stunning dogs at incredible locations too! 🐶 📸 🏔️

Our recent retreat in Iceland was priced at $5,900 USD (private room) and is our premium in-person teaching experience.

We probably won't be running another Style Lab Retreat until 2025 and at this stage, we can't give any indication of where the next one might be - however we have a few possibilities in the pipeline so stay tuned!

Unleashed Workshop is a 3-day dog photography experience that caters to both seasoned professionals and keen amateurs.

How do we make this work?

Rather taking up our time together with hours of keynotes that may or may not be relevant to your level of experience, the workshop format is designed to focus on you.

Using our unique checklist system we first get a fix on exactly where you are in your pet photography journey. We then utilise plenty of one-on-one time and interactive activities to ensure everyone goes away with plenty of new knowledge and techniques!

Our student-focused approach we take means that everyone is able to get what they need from their time with us, whatever their level.

And of course - we work with some really incredible dogs, with three shoots at gorgeous locations in the local area. 🐶 📸 🍁

Our upcoming Unleashed Workshop in Arrowtown in April 2024 is priced at $2,900 AUD, which is around $1,850 USD at the moment.

We've been hearing some questions about our upcoming Unleashed Workshop in Arrowtown in April 2024, so here's some answers!

📍 Where is Arrowtown, and how do I get there?

Arrowtown is an historic gold mining town, located in the Otago region of the South Island of New Zealand - amongst a backdrop of snow-capped peaks, crystal clear lakes and incredible autumn colours.

Arrowtown is a 15 minute drive from better-known tourist destination Queenstown, which has an international airport with direct flights from major New Zealand cities plus the east coast of Australia.

It's easy to get to, easy to find your way around, and can be the launch pad for an epic New Zealand adventure if you choose to extend your stay!

🏠 Does the workshop include accommodation?

To offer our participants maximum flexibility, we designed Unleashed Workshops to allow you to book your own accommodation that perfectly aligns with your budget and preferences.

There is a wide array of accommodation options in the local area - whether you're seeking the cozy charm of budget backpackers or the indulgent luxury of a high-end resort - there's something for everyone in Arrowtown and the surrounds. Queenstown is only a 15 minute (beautiful scenic) drive away so if you have a car, there's plenty of accommodation options there too.

If you need help with finding accommodation, let us know! We have been to Arrowtown many times and can recommend the best websites to search for accommodation, and can advise you of the best locations to stay.

🚗 Will I need my own car?

To ensure everyone arrives at the right time and place for the daily photo shoots we do provide transportation to and from those locations during the workshop.

You'll just need to find your own way each day to and from the conference venue, which is Millbrook Resort in Arrowtown - but guess what? You can make it easy for yourself by staying on-site at the resort!

If you're staying elsewhere, why not team up with fellow participants to arrange car sharing?

🍔 Is food included?

Never fear, you won't go hungry at our workshops!

Tea and coffee is available throughout the day, along with a delicious morning tea. To keep your energy up for our afternoon activities (photographing gorgeous dogs in the amazing autumn surroundings) we treat you to a delicious lunch at a local restaurant.

You'll just need to organise breakfast each day and dinner for the first two nights, because we're also shouting you a restaurant dinner in Arrowtown on the last night!

🤷🏻‍♀️ Can I bring a guest/partner?

Since you are organising your own accommodation, you're more than welcome to bring your partner, family or friend along to stay with you - however they'll need to occupy themselves elsewhere while you're participating in all workshop activities, including classroom time, shoots and meals.

They are more than welcome to attend our final dinner, however they will need to pay for their own meal and drinks.

Luckily there's plenty to keep them busy by themselves during the day in this popular holiday destination!

And why not extend your stay in the area and attend the Arrowtown Autumn Festival, or head off on an epic road trip around New Zealand afterwards?

We adore Arrowtown so much that this will be our third time running this workshop here!

However, all good things come to an end and after this workshop, we will be moving on to somewhere different for future Unleashed Workshops.

We're not sure yet where that will be, and future workshops may not follow exactly the same format and pricing. If you're interested in joining us in Arrowtown, don't hold off as there won't be another opportunity in the future!
