What’s better than one dog? Two, of course! Dogs are social creatures and many dog owners have more than one, so at some point, pet photographers will need to have some tricks up their sleeves to help capture pairs of pooches posing perfectly (say that fast after a glass of wine or two!)

So for challenge number 10 (of 12) in Emerge, we share our best techniques for capturing images of canine duos and send our challengers out to create images with Double the Trouble!

This candid portrait has a lovely feel. The expressions are engaging and the light adds a touch of magic that gives this image an aspirational feeling.

This warm storm light really adds mood and a bit of drama to the image, the dogs are posed perfectly on the rock and both have wonderful, engaging expressions.

Nice posing and a great connection between subjects make this a great image for Double Trouble and helps tell the story of the relationship between these two dogs.

There is a fantastic power to the triangular shape of the combined pose of both dogs together that gives their relationship strength. The detail and colour are excellent.

These two laying together fell like they have a great connection. The different angles give the image some visual interest and there's great eye contact and expression from both dogs.

What a great little story we have in this image. Evoking the story of The Prince(ss) And The Pauper. Nicely lit with a good use of props and colour to help drive the story even more and both subjects look great!

The humour in this is brilliant, both dogs have such goofy expressions that can't help but put a smile on the face of anyone who looks at the image.

What a great posed shot that takes some of the lessons from the Slow Motion Challenge and brings it to Double Trouble. the mirrored body language and textures throughout the image work really well.

This is a clever take on the brief and it was only the slight shift in white balance that gave away the fact it is a reflection. The shallow depth of field also helping the illusion that this is two dogs.

What a lovely connection between these two. Their relationship is clear, the simplicity of the fresh greens adds a feeling of vitality. The low angle draws us in, their pose and connection hold us there.
