Emerge 2026 All in the Details Top 10
Aug 03, 2026
Since our pets are such unique looking creatures, they will always have particular features that their owners love.
You must have heard people talk about their favourite bits of their dogs before. The weird, quirky or cute parts that make them unique. Including shots that show off those details in albums and storyboards lends more depth and meaning to your work and gives clients a beautiful reminder of what makes their dogs even more special.
We absolutely love this challenge and getting to see these unique traits of every animal. It was another seriously impressive set of submissions and narrowing down our top 10 was tough.
But here, in no particular order, are our favourite images from the All in the Details challenge.
Congratulations to the photographers!

We provide video feedback on all images submitted for the challenge, and from there, we select our Top 20 and Top 10. Without further ado, here are the Top 10 images for this challenge!

The direction of light gives this detail shot a gorgeous shape. The light and shade add depth to the image and the details are full of texture.

This is so creative and clever! The sharp detail on the nose is fabulous. The soft eyes and tongue add personality, but it's all about the detail of what's inside that magnifying glass. A fantastic and original take on this challenge brief.

Erica Harvey | Erica Lane Photography
There's so much texture to enjoy in this dog's muzzle and nose. The waves of fur, the little whiskers and shiny nose print are just wonderful.

Jeanne VanGorder
The detail in this lizard's eye is fantastic! The focal plane is right on the eyeball and falls off, then comes back in around the eye socket, so it works like a sharp scaly framing element. The blue/yellow colour palette is excellent.

Jill Blathwayt
Such a sweet moment captured in up close detail. The cat's little tongue, so cute! The composition of this is beautifully balanced.

Jill Monroe | Jill Monroe Photography LLC
What a wonderful celebration of this dog's coat. There's texture and sharpness throughout the areas you want to see it. The brown spots all placed perfectly and help your eye flow through the white areas.

Linda Van Oeffelen-Brosens | Jinterwas photography
This composition is beautifully balanced from nose to whiskers. The diagonal is dynamic and the detail is fantastic.

Nikki Jennifer | Nikki Jennifer Photography
What a fun capture of this sandy dog! The eye has so much structure and detail it's easy to get lost in there! The sand adds a little story to the image and the flow of the fur patterns and eyebrow keeps the attention in that centered eye.

Ranmali Dinwoodie | The Snoot Pet Photography
Butt swirls! The crisp detail, texture and tonal range in this image are all great. The tail down the middle acts as a nice visual separation of the light and dark sides.

Tobi Smith
It takes a little while to understand what we're looking at here, but the legs finally give away that it's wind-blown chest fur! The white parts spreading like a firework. This is wonderful, creative thinking and a create interpretation of the All In The Details brief.
