Embark is back for 2025, and we are off to a fantastic start with a high standard of submissions from our challengers from the start!

The first challenge is Colouriffic.

Shooting against a coloured building, wall or other coloured object can be a great way to convey personality or focus the viewer’s attention on a dog’s physical features in otherwise distracting outdoor environments.

We can't wait to see how they progress throughout the next six months.

We provide video feedback on all images submitted for the challenge, and from there, we select our Top 20 and Top 10. Without further ado, here are the Top 10 images for this challenge!

A classic colour combo of orange and teal! Fantastic low shooting angle the raises the entire dog into that contrasting colour. The light in this is exquisite.

Beautiful bold colour, the cute and quirky expression is incredibly engaging too. A simple but very effective image!

The trifecta of backdrop, bandana and eye colour shows a clear intention to harmonise this image. It's colourful, but in keeping with this lovely dog, whose expression has us deep into those blue eyes.

This is Colouriffic! The rich bold yellow with this giant dog bursting through the paper to grab a peanut butter snack, glorious.

The rainbow spectrum of this staircase makes for a colouriffic backdrop for a largely black and white dog. That head tilt, you just can't help but love it!

The attention paid to colour harmony using bright saturated hues is exquisite in this submission. The expression of the dog is lovely. "... That's all folks!"

What gorgeous, rich and luxurious red tones in this cleverly framed portrait. The light is beautiful and that expression is lovely, and who can resist the quirkiness of a sideways hip-sit?!

The pose of this dog really captures a ton of personality. Alret, expressicve and that paw raised is the icing on the cake. The rich reds work wonderfully with this dogs warm fur.

This is an explosion of retro-themed colour and we thought is was executed  beautifully. The dogs colouriffic hair-do coordinates beautifully to the swirls of pink in the background.
