Prepare Your Image
Image Submission Specs
When you submit your challenge image it must be:
- Resized to 4000 pixels on the long side at 72 dpi
- Using sRGB colour mode
- High quality JPEG (90-100%)
- Including all metadata
You can watermark your image, but this should be discreet (we suggest in one corner).
Your images will be checked automatically on upload.

Exporting Images From Lightroom
Here's the recommended settings when Exporting from Lightroom (File > Export).
1: Export Location
Select the folder where you want to save your image.
2: File Naming
It's entirely up to you how you name the files, we have no requirements for image submissions.
3: File Settings
- Set Image Format to JPEG
- Set Colour Space to sRGB
- Quality 100
4: Image Sizing
- Check Resize to Fit and choose Long Edge from the dropdown menu
- Change the Size to 4,000 and select pixels from the dropdown menu
- Resolution should be 72 ppi
5: Metadata
Please include all metadata so we can check time and date, and camera settings.
6: Watermarking
If you have your watermark set up in Lightroom, add it here. Please make sure it is small, discreet and doesn't distract from the image. We recommend putting a watermark in one corner like the example below.
Then click Export!
Exporting Images from Photoshop
Photoshop Resizing Method #1 - Crop
Select the Crop Tool from the toolbar.
At the top next to the Home button, select W x H x Resolution from the drop down.
If the image is a landscape format image, enter 4000 px in the left hand box. If the image is a portrait image, enter 4000 px in the right hand box.
Make sure px/in is selected from the dropdown menu and enter 72 as the image resolution.
Photoshop Resizing Method #2 - Image Size
Go to Image > Image Size.
Enter 72 for the Resolution and select Pixels/Inch.
Enter 4000 Pixels on the long side and make sure the aspect ratio is locked.
Press OK.
Saving from Photoshop
Go to File > Save a Copy.
Select the folder you want to save your image in and rename it if you like.
Make sure the file format is JPEG and you have ticked to embed the sRGB colour profile. If a different colour profile is listed here, you may need to go back and convert your image to sRGB.
Press Save.
When the JPEG Options box pops up, set the quality to 10 and click OK.
